Teleworking has had a boost recently and some of that growth is here to stay. Social distancing is required in offices and customer contact facilities which will mean some agents will have to work at home some days. Even after the need for social distancing, employees and employers are both beginning to see the benefits of telecommuting for all involved. It is low cost because employees remote their existing office computer so there is no impact on tech support for setup or increase in help desk volumes as there is with configuring laptops or setting up and supporting BYOD home computers. Additional software licenses for a home computer are not required. Software licensing compliance has no incremental cost.

Secure

It is secure because files stay in the office and cloud resources are accessed from the office network, not directly from home. There need be no files or credentials on employees’ home computers which might also be used by other family members. It can’t access the internet, install additional apps, download files or run malware. Certificates and 2FA are part of the solution. It runs on small portable ARM devices or on existing hardware via USB boot or dual boot.
